360 DEGREE FEEDBACK: WHAT TO EXPECT FROM IT?

I have been associated with this methodology of what is now called as 360 Degree Feedback for the last 20 years. I have conceived of this methodology in mid-eighties and designed the first ever formal program in 1985 and offered it at the IIMA with the title “Leadership Styles and Organizational Effectiveness”. It was titled by some one in USA in 1990s as 360 Degree Feedback it has been popularized with that name.

We have by now experience of covering over 3000 Managers from all over the country including about a 100 CEOs, another 100 School Heads, nearly 2000 Senior and top level managers. Our experience extends to the NGO sector. I have offered two laboratories based on this methodology through the ISABS and covered extensively some of the Tata Group and Aditya Birla Group companies. We have also used this in Indian companies in other countries Nigeria, Egypt, Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia etc. Based on this experience of last two decades I would like to explode some of the myths and moderate high expectations people seem to have. I am sharing here also my experiences to correct some misconceptions.
